Ingredients

  • 24g Uganda Coffee Shop coffee
  • 360ml filtered water at 93C
  • French press
  • Timer

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Add the coffee to the French press and place it on a stable surface.
  2. Pour all the water over the grounds, stir gently once, and place the lid on without pressing.
  3. Steep for 4 minutes, then skim excess foam from the top if desired.
  4. Press the plunger down slowly and pour immediately to prevent over-extraction.

Tips for Best Results

  • Use a coarse grind to keep the cup smooth and avoid bitterness.
  • If serving later, decant the coffee into another vessel instead of leaving it in the press.
  • A short stir at the beginning helps improve even extraction.

Variations

  • Add 20 to 30ml warm milk for a softer breakfast cup.
  • Use slightly less water for a stronger, richer body.
